Who we are

This website is operated by The Liberation Club Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

Using this website

You may use this website for lawful personal purposes and to learn about The Liberation Club, access material we make available, contact us, join our waiting list and purchase publications where offered.

You must not deliberately interfere with the operation or security of the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, misuse forms or payment systems, introduce malicious code, or use the website in a way that infringes the rights of another person.

We may change, suspend or remove parts of the website as the Club develops. We do not promise that every part of the website will always be available without interruption.

Information and ideas on this website

The Liberation Club publishes stories, ideas, commentary, discussions and other material intended to encourage thought, conversation and participation.

Unless we specifically say otherwise, this material is provided for general information and discussion. It is not professional medical, psychological, legal, financial or other regulated professional advice.

You remain responsible for decisions you make based on your own circumstances and, where appropriate, for obtaining relevant professional advice.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the material on this website and the digital publications sold by The Liberation Club are owned by The Liberation Club Ltd, their respective authors or other identified rights holders.

You may read, view and use publicly available website material for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

Buying a digital publication gives you a personal right to read and use your copy. It does not transfer copyright or other intellectual-property rights to you.

Unless the publication or its licence expressly says otherwise, you must not reproduce, upload, distribute, resell or make substantial parts of a purchased publication available to others without permission from the relevant rights holder.

Nothing in these terms prevents uses that are permitted by law.

Buying a digital publication

Digital publications offered through this website are supplied electronically. No Club membership or user account is required to buy a publication unless we specifically state otherwise.

Product information

Before you buy, the relevant product page will identify the publication, its price and other important information about what you are buying.

Our current publications are supplied as PDF files. You will need a device and software capable of opening a standard PDF file.

Price

The price shown on the product page is the price charged by The Liberation Club, subject to any valid discount applied before payment.

There are no physical delivery charges for digital publications.

Payment is processed through Stripe. Stripe may offer you the option to pay in another currency. Any exchange rate or currency-conversion charge offered by Stripe will be displayed by Stripe before you confirm payment.

Discount codes

We may occasionally provide discount codes. A code may be limited to particular publications, periods, people or numbers of uses.

Unless we expressly say otherwise, discount codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

We may refuse or cancel the use of a discount code where it has been obtained or used fraudulently, unlawfully or contrary to the conditions under which it was issued.

Payment

Payments are processed using Stripe's hosted checkout.

When you choose to continue to payment, you will be transferred to Stripe. Stripe processes your payment information under its own terms and privacy arrangements.

The Liberation Club does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

A purchase is not complete until payment has been successfully authorised or, where a valid discount reduces the price to zero, our system has confirmed the purchase.

Delivery and access

After a successful purchase we provide electronic access to the publication and send purchase information to the email address supplied during checkout.

The initial secure download link may expire after a limited period for security reasons. At present, our download links normally remain valid for seven days.

Expiry of an individual link does not by itself cancel your underlying purchase.

Where available, you can use our access-recovery facility to request a new download link using the email address associated with your purchase.

Your cancellation right for digital content

Consumers normally have a 14-day cancellation period for many contracts made online.

Different rules apply when digital content is supplied immediately.

We will not treat simply buying the publication as sufficient by itself. The immediate-access choice is made separately as part of the purchase process.

Once you have expressly requested immediate supply, acknowledged the effect on your cancellation right, and we begin supplying the digital publication, you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel that purchase simply because you change your mind.

This does not affect your rights if the digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet your statutory rights.

Problems with digital content

We are under a legal duty to supply digital content that meets the requirements of UK consumer law.

In particular, digital content supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose that forms part of the contract, and as described.

If a publication is corrupted, cannot be accessed, is materially different from what was described, or otherwise does not meet those legal requirements, please contact us.

Depending on the circumstances, consumer law may give you the right to repair or replacement of the digital content. If that is impossible or cannot be provided within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction, which can be a full refund in appropriate circumstances.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Refunds

Because a digital publication can be supplied immediately, changing your mind after immediate supply has begun does not normally give you a right to a refund where you gave the required consent and acknowledgement described above.

That does not prevent us from giving a discretionary refund where we consider it appropriate, and it does not affect any refund or other remedy required by law.

Waiting list and Club membership

Buying a publication does not automatically add you to The Liberation Club waiting list, newsletter or future membership.

If you want to receive Club updates, you must separately choose to subscribe through our waiting-list or subscription service.

These terms do not currently constitute membership terms for The Liberation Club. If Club membership opens and additional terms apply to membership, those terms will be made available separately before somebody joins.

Third-party services

Parts of the website use or link to services supplied by other organisations, including Stripe, Substack and YouTube.

Those organisations operate their own services and may apply their own terms and privacy arrangements when you interact with them.

We are not responsible for the content or availability of unrelated third-party websites merely because we provide a link to them.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect the legal rights given to you by consumer law.

We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen when a contract was made, or for losses that result from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If you use this website or purchase material wholly or mainly for purposes relating to a trade, business, craft or profession, different legal rules may apply to your relationship with us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as The Liberation Club and its website develop.

The terms applying to a completed purchase are the terms that applied when that purchase was made, together with any rights provided by law.

The date at the top of this page shows when the current version was last updated.

Law applying to these terms

These terms and our relationship with you are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also have mandatory rights under the law applicable where you live. Nothing in these terms is intended to remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
